The Fourth International Scientific Conference “Health, Sport, Recreation,” organized by the College of Sports and Health, was held online on May 14, 2021. At the conference, current topics related to health, sport, and recreation were presented in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aim of the conference was to exchange and enhance scientific and professional knowledge, experiences, and ideas, as well as to disseminate good practice among scientists and professionals from the complex and multidisciplinary fields of physical culture, sport management, and medicine.

More than 80 scientific papers were submitted for the conference, authored by researchers from thirteen countries (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Romania, Moldova, Iran, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Serbia).

The opening lectures in the plenary session were delivered by distinguished professors and scientists from Serbia, Italy, Croatia, and the United States. Maurizio Bertollo, one of today’s most influential researchers in the field of sport and sport psychology, was among the keynote speakers and has also served as a main lecturer at the World Congress of Sport Psychology held in Taiwan. Francesca Vitali, another leading scholar in sports psychology, comes from the University of Verona. Damir Sekulić, Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology in Split at the University of Split, is one of the most cited researchers in this region in the field of sports sciences. Nebojša Knežević, a physician and anesthesiologist from the University of Illinois at Chicago, is a recognized international expert.

Following the opening lectures, the authors presented their papers in Serbian and English across four separate sessions. Special attention was given to key factors of physical activity, ranging from contemporary trends in physical education, sport, and recreation; health aspects of physical activity and the promotion of sport as a function of a healthy lifestyle; prevention and treatment of various health conditions; to the importance and impact of management functions in sports organizations.
